Getting ready for exam

All cut out and hung up to avoid wrinkles and marks.

Before I do the suit that will be sent in for evaluation I’m doing a test suit.
This suit will have all the components as the examination suit and will be clocked to see if I make the time limit. I will also do a tail coat front with silk facing and send along.

So far I have cut ALL the pieces I’m using down to domestic (don’t know if this word is the same. Strong thin cotton fabric used for vents and parts that need extra support and firmness). This took me a day. Also cut the pieces for two frock fronts with canvas. Cutting time is excluded from the time limit so I have prepared all pieces as best I can.
I have also been spending a day doing two mirroring side pockets and a breast pocket to repeat every step as pockets are one of the hardest things to get right. It also gets me a chance to see how the material handles. So far I’m quite pleased. It’s a little hard to get completely flat over seams but there are absolutely no pressmarks what so ever showing even after pressing over the entire pocket without any paper behind.  Also a quite thick material which is easy to handle and do not slip around or stretch as it pleases as my green suit did, keeps together splendidly in edges to.
Tomorrow I’ll start sewing  8: 45 pm to 16:00  am. I will have one hour lunch break but other than that I have no breaks.
My goal is to finish of all the pockets.
When I start I already have 30 min to my time, this is for the markstitches I have made which do count in time.

I also have to check if I can post any pictures of this suit with the evaluations jury. There is a new rule this year that no pictures whatsoever can be published before the evaluation. This is not the evaluation suit but I still need to be sure as I do not want to be disqualified.
